PQV-Pro Metering Valve, 1-1/4" Tee with Ball Valve
Details
Clemco PQV-Pro™ Abrasive Metering Valve
The PQV-Pro is a pneumatically operated, normally-closed metering valve that delivers consistent, adjustable media flow for pressure blast machines. When the deadman is pressed, control air overcomes spring force to open the valve to your preset position; releasing the handle vents control air and positively closes the valve to stop abrasive flow.
Why it’s great
- Consistent metering with a top-mounted adjustment knob for precise abrasive flow.
- Positive shutoff (spring-return) to stop media when the handle is released.
- Rugged build with flanged connections for easy service and reliable sealing.
- Flexible configurations: order with or without the flanged ball (shutoff) valve; choose 1.25" or 1.50" outlet tee.
Pressure & operating specs
| Pressure to fully open | 80 psi |
| Max working pressure | 175 psi |
| Valve action | Normally closed; air-assist to open, spring return to close |
| Outlet options | 1.25" or 1.50" flanged outlet tee (for blast hose & pusher line) |
Abrasive compatibility
Designed for most common blast abrasives from 16-mesh to 220-mesh (machine/nozzle may further limit size). Compatible with slags, garnet, steel abrasives, glass bead, crushed glass, and many lightweight medias. Use clean, dry air—finer media requires especially dry air to prevent bridging. Do not use sand containing free crystalline silica.
Models & part numbers

Helpful options
- Restrictor Kit (P/N 32400): for on-the-fly media adjustments during blasting.
What’s included
- PQV-Pro metering valve body with flanged connections
- 1.50" NPT close nipple for installing to the blast machine
- Outlet tee (1.25" or 1.50" per model)
- (Models with shutoff) flanged ball valve
Install notes
- Allow extra ground clearance for the install nipple and hose coupling (approx. +1.75" beyond valve height).
- Apply thread sealant to male pipe threads; tighten on the inlet nipple or ball valve flats only to protect flanges.
Safety: Blasting dust can contain hazardous substances. Provide training, PPE, and compliant ventilation/monitoring. Always depressurize, lockout/tagout, and bleed air lines before service.
